County Highlights:

Here are some highlights of all the work our task force groups have completed to date. Great job to our task force groups and leaders!

Nicholas County

• Building strength in numbers
• Asking the tough questions (and not afraid to ask again!)
• Energized about expanding accessibility
• Working toward better benefits for childcare employees

Fayette County

• Supporting the launch of Lively Little Ones Childcare (Opening Sept 2025)
• Exploring an innovative cooperative model for A Place To Grow Children’s Center
• dentifying family child care barriers and fostering community-driven solutions

Greenbrier County

• Identifying shared challenges and solutions through collaboration
• Surveying potential partners for aligned opportunities
• Assisting Alderson with launching a quality childcare center with Marvel’s support (nutrition, business model, materials, etc.)
• Next meeting: August 5 @ 10 a.m. at Marvel or on Zoom, with guest Tiffany Gale (WV Family Child Care Network)

Summers County

• Expanding the task force to include more community partners
• Exploring collaborative strategies to address the provider shortage
